“Will it make the Boat go
Faster?”
This question helped Ben Hunt-Davis row his way
to an Olympic gold medal in Sydney 2000. What is
your business equivalent? Is it about your sales
team having the courage to operate at a boardroom
level, or is it about helping your business deal
with change more efficiently.
Keynote speaker and performance coach Ben Hunt-Davis
has spent the last 4 years working with a wide range
of businesses helping them answer these questions.
Ben Hunt Davis rowed for Great Britain for almost
a decade, competing at six world championships and
three Olympic games. The peak of his sporting career
came in Sydney where he was a member of the Men’s
Eight that won the gold medal, becoming the first
British winners of the event since 1912. Ben’s
story is an inspirational and exciting insight into
how this group of young sportsman became Olympic
champions.
After seven years competing in the national team
Ben was still a long way from winning any World
medals. Things needed to change and there could
be no excuses. He and the team set their ambitions
and gave their unfaltering commitment to achieving
it, defining absolutely everything that could make
the boat go faster. They changed their mindset,
their approach and their training and as a result,
their performance.
His story of the path to an Olympic gold medal
bridges the reality gap between just listening to
how others achieve their goals, and doing it yourself.
His experience as a business coach has allowed Ben
a great deal of insight into the corporate world.
Knowing about how people think and what motivates
them, means he can use his story to greatest effect,
explaining not only how he changed his attitude,
but how other people can do the same.
In Ben's hugely exciting and inspirational
keynote the story can be tailored to bring out specific
themes such as;
- Continuous change
- Continuous improvement
- Personal leadership/Responsibility
- Team work, communication
- Planning
- Feedback
- Learning from one's mistakes
- Goal setting
- Self belief
- Motivation
- The need to take action
- Performing at one's best
- Or it can simply be enjoyed as a hugely inspirational
and exciting keynote speech
